Steps have released a special version of their album track ‘Heartbreak In This City’, featuring Michelle Visage. The track is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms!
The new track is the fourth song to be released from Steps’ number two charting album ‘What The Future Holds’. ‘Heartbreak In This City’ was premiered this morning with Alan Carr on Radio 2, during the Zoe Ball breakfast show.
From the release of album ‘What The Future Holds’ by the group, the track was a clear fan favourite from the first listen. This may be because nostalgically, Steps worked with song writer Karl Twigg, responsible for timeless classics such as ‘One For Sorrow’, ‘Stomp’, and ‘Deeper Shade of Blue.
The track is an upbeat classic, which is loved among fans already. The build up to the chorus is something we’ve learned to love from Steps, and you will definitely be able to hear the influence from Karl Twigg in this masterpiece. If you’re looking to dance around your home or even make up your own dance routine, this is the one for you!
One of the reasons that the mix of this single so special, is the feature from Drag Race and Strictly Come Dancing legend, Michelle Visage. When discussing the track, she said:
“To say that I’m honoured to record a song with pop icons STEPS is the understatement of the year. With the state of the world today, we all need music that makes us feel good and trust me when I tell you, Heartbreak In This City is an absolute BOP! After years of dreaming about it, for at least a moment in time, I can officially be “Michelle from Steps”! CAN SOMEONE PINCH ME PLEASE? I hope everyone loves listening to it as much as I loved recording it!”
Steps have also voiced where the collaboration idea came from. Lee commented:
“The idea for this collaboration came about when we did an Instagram Live with Michelle on album release week. I LOVE Heartbreak In This City and we thought Michelle would be PERFECT to take it to the next level. I am the world’s number one Drag Race superfan and BESIDE myself she’s joined us on the song!”
Steps will be headlining their What The Future Holds 2021 tour in November of this year, with special guest Sophie Ellis-Bexter. Across 18 arenas, you’ll not want to miss this!
