Take A Look Back at 2020’s Most Played Songs

After the year we have all experienced of 2020, it’s easy to forget the great music we’ve heard. There have been many unforgettable releases from classic favourites, and even lockdown projects from artists less known. Join us as we take a look at some of 2020’s most played songs!

5) Don’t Start Now by Dua Lipa

Dua Lipa has certainly found her own sound and stuck to it. This upbeat number will have you wantibg to bop along from the beginning. ‘Don’t Start Now’ was also used as a popular TikTok trend earlier this year.

4) Roses (Imanbek Remix) by Imanbek and SAINt JHN

Again, this tune rose to fame because of TikTok. The catchy tune will have you humming for days. However, it is likely you will try and make the words up yourself, as a lot of listeners have struggled to hear the exact lyrics. You’re not the only one singing ‘I was in a corner with a violent screaming goat’.

3) The Box by Roddy Ricch

Roddy Ricch dropped this banger in January and has remained popular a year later. Roddy Ricch released album ‘Please Excuse Me for Being Anti Social’ in December 2019, of which ‘The Box’ was the 4th single to be released from.

2) Dance Monkey by Tones and I

2020 has felt like such a long year, it seems a lot longer ago that we first heard this tune. Although it was released in 2019, the song rose to popularity in early 2020. The intruiging and repetitive piano, as well as the interesting vocals from Toni Watson make this one of the best pop songs we’ve heard in a long time. Here’s to hoping this wasn’t a one hit wonder for Tones and I!

1) Blinding Lights by The Weeknd

Did you even experience lockdown if you didn’t see this on your TikTok ‘for you’ page throughout April and May 2020? The most popular trend of the year was the dance that accompanied ‘Blinding Lights’. The synth throughout the song gives us an 80’s vibe, and we’re here for it! I’m sure you’re not surprised that this came first. It’s been played on TV channels and radio stations constantly since it’s release.

So to round up 2020, there’s the most played songs. It really has been the soundtrack to a whirlwind year, that we are all glad has come to an end!
