It was officially announced by Cameron Mackintosh – with First Night Records and Warner Music – that we will be able to listen and appreciate the live recording of the Les Miserables – The Staged Concert on CD and streaming services! You can listen to on Spotify, or purchase the CD here.

This stunning collection of music from the hit West End production was recorded live at the Gielgud Theatre last year. It features a wonderful cast of theatre stars including; Michael Ball as Javert, Alfie Boe as Jean Valjean, Carrie Hope Fletcher as Fantine, Matt Lucas as Thénardier, Rob Houchen as Marius, Bradley Jaden as Enjolras, Katy Secombe as Madame Thénardier, Shan Ako as Éponine and Lily Kerhoas as Cosette and an orchestra of over 65.

This all-star cast has given you the opportunity to listen to some of your favourite Les Miserables songs. I Dreamed a Dream, On My Own, Stars, Bring Him Home, Do You Hear the People Sing?, One Day More, Empty Chairs at Empty Tables, Master Of The House and lots more, can be enjoyed no matter where you are in the world.

The digital download version was released earlier in the year. For every digital version sold, The Mackintosh Foundation separately donated £5.00. The money that was raised was shared amongst a variety of charities including; Acting for Others, the Musicians Union Coronavirus Hardship Fund and Captain Tom Moore’s Walk for the NHS fund. Cameron Mackintosh then donated a further £100,000 from his Foundation to help launch the fundraising initiatives for those charities.

Produced on stage by Cameron Mackintosh, Les Misérables is the longest running musical in the world. It has seen massive success in its 35 years of production. It has been performed in 52 countries and 22 languages and won over 100 international awards.

If you’re a musical lover, this CD is a purchase you just have to make. The theatre world may be struggling at this current time and we must support the arts as much as we can. The West End performance of the musical is hoping to return next Spring.
