Janet Devlin Announces Surprise ‘Versions of Better’ EP

Last week saw the release of Irish singer-songwriter Janet Devlin surprise EP “Versions of Better.” It is available to stream on all major streaming platforms now!

“Versions of Better” sees six alternative versions album’s poignant epilogue, “Better Now.” Each take on the song is just as stunning as the last. The announcement came only a week after the premiere of the official video of “Better Now” which you can watch below.

“Better Now” is the last track that can be seen on Janet’s most recent album “Confessional.” It was written alongside David Sneddon and Anu Pillai – both have which have written songs for some of the biggest names in the music industry, including Lewis Capaldi.

When speaking of the track, Janet Devlin says;

 “I wanted to close the album with a happy ending. But that would not have been the truth. It wouldn’t have reflected the darkness I’ve seen and the true ups and downs of my world.”

The stunning songstress was brave enough to share her story about her alcohol addiction and the time when she relapsed. This is what “Better Now” focusses on. When speaking of the EP, Janet says;

Everyone has their own version of what ‘better’ might look like. What I consider ‘better’ may be considered a good day to some but a breakdown to others. Within my own mental health recovery it could be something as simple as; ringing my therapist, cooking a meal or even just knowing that today it’s okay to stay in bed if the world doesn’t feel safe. Better looks different to all of us – it means that it’s not as bad as it once was.”

Inspiring, sensational, powerful. There are many words that can describe this fantastic piece of art. Her album has received glowing reviews and can be streamed here. Janet also has a book out to share her story in more detail – this can be ordered here.
