Virtual Benefit Concert Hosted By Music For Beirut

Music For Beirut and Noisey will be hosting a virtual benefit concert in order to raise money for the Children’s Cancer Centre of Lebanon. The concert will take place on the 11th of October via Noisey’s Youtube channel, and donations can be made on the Music For Beirut’s website.

The Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon (CCCL) is a not-for-profit organization that helps treat childhood cancer. CCCL are connected with  with St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (SJCRH) in Memphis, Tennessee, as well as working with American University of Beirut Medical Center (AUBMC). Children who are treated at CCCL are treated free of charge. All of their treatments are done with no extra cost to the childs parents. This means that the charity relies purely on donations.

On the 4th of August, tragic struck in Beirut leaving most of the cities hospitals badly damaged. Many of the children in these hospitals were transferred to CCCL. To date, they have treated more than 1740 children with cancer, with an incredible cure rate of 80%. Now that they have a surge of new patients, they need help now more than ever in order to sustain the cost of treatment.

For generations, music has bought people closer together even in the darkest times. The Music For Beirut will be free to watch on Youtube on the 11th of October at 5pm PT and 8pm ET, it’s all to help find kind people to donate to this wonderful charity.
