Nashville singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist Mokita has recently dropped the stunning new single “Down.” The track is now available to stream and purchase here.
“Down” is an extremely emotional track. The concept behind the lyrics is essentially a love letter to anyone who is going through a tough time right now. You will seek comfort and feel somewhat hopeful. “Down” acts as a sort of comfort blanket to anyone who is feeling like their world is shattering. Tears will be shed upon listening, but a good cry is what we all need every now and again.
When speaking of the track, Mokita says;
“I’ve had some really rough seasons in my life where my depression was just so bad and I didn’t feel like I was ever going climb out of it, but through those times I’ve had some close friends who have walked with me through those seasons; who have encouraged me and just been present. I think the theme of this song was really just a letter to those friends who are going through those things, and to anyone who is having a hard time. Everybody needs a friend to walk with them through the hard seasons and sometimes just being present, being available to listen, and being faithful, is the best way to love someone through those times.”
Not only was the world treated to this incredible new single, but Mokita dropped a music video alongside it. It has a simplicity to it that reflects the vulnerabilty of the single perfectly. You can watch the video below;
Mokita has already seen so much success. He has worked with the likes of Ella Vos, R3HAB, Lost Frequencies, and Gavin Haley, whilst working as a songwriter and producer. Over the past few years, he thought it was time to step out from behind the scenes and release music of his own. Last year, he released his debut EP “4201,” and has over 200m+ streams to his name. It’s a name that you just have to keep your eye on.
