Stunning songstress ARI has just blessed us all with her brand-new EP “IDIOT GRL.” The five-track masterpiece is now available to stream on all major streaming platforms.
Alongside the release, the rising star dropped a quirky and fun music video for “IDIOT GRL” – the song that inspired the title for the EP. We see ARI in her bedroom singing about her experiences as the “idiot girl” at school. Songs based on personal experience are usually the ones we connect with the most. This track is sure going to resonate with a lot of people. The video was directed by Lebni Avitia and his vision perfectly executed the true meaning behind the song. Instead of us describing it to you, give the video a watch below:
The EP as a whole tackles some pretty heavy topics including mental health, self-worth, and attainable ideals of perfection. ARI was able to utilise her God-given talent by expressing the issues into catchy anthems.
“IDIOT GRL” also includes other tracks that the Toronto singer has released previously. “Cold War” was released as a single earlier in the year. It discusses the struggles ARI faces whilst trying to keep a healthy balance between her two lives in Toronto and LA.
When talking about the project, ARI says;
“This EP has been my baby since 2020 began, however it was conceived long before this year. It is a culmination of the deeply personal inner workings of my brain and the story of how I became me. How I took the self-deprecating title of ‘IDIOT GRL’ and turned it into a persona I am proud to now own.”
We truly believe that there is something in this EP for everyone to enjoy. With it’s relatable lyrics and catchy beats, you’ll be having it on full-blast on both your good days and bad.
