Nottingham based band Fading Blonde have dropped their brand new single today (14th August). “Walking Distance” is an absolutely insane track that you just have to listen to and fall in love with. It’s now available to stream on Spotify here.
What can we say about this track? It’s certainly one for the alt-rock lovers. Reminds us of old school All Time Low and All American Rejects. It’s a song made for the stage. “Walking Distance” gives off all the festival vibes we’re missing so much. Fading Blonde deserve a place on the SlamDunk line-up (once we’re allowed to venture out in to crowds again).
“Walking Distance” is about dealing with the physical distance from a loved one. Very relevant during this time and something we’re all experiencing. The artwork for the track can’t go unnoticed as it is so stunning! The trio collaborated with top Colombian designer Cristian Alarcón D. The idea is to showcase a new era for the band.

When speaking of the single, lead singer Evan Jones says;
“With Walking Distance we wanted to create a song which people could shout back the words to us at gigs next year – that’s the feeling we’re missing and we wanted to re-create this in the recording. The song is about being with someone everyday of your life and then suddenly having to deal with emotional and physical distance. We poured all this emotion back into the song and hopefully that shines through the finished product.”
From the catchy tune, to the beautiful and aesthetic artwork, we’re loving the new direction the band are taking. We would love to be able to see them live one day. In the meantime, be sure to follow their Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to show your support and to keep updated.
